“The local church is the hope of the world” – Bill Hybels. This is a statement I passionately believe in. I think my biggest passion in life is to see how Jesus’ church works in the lives of people and the community. And I truly believe DMC and the other churches in the community can be the hope of the Cape community.
I am a relatively new member to DMC, having only joined officially in September 2015. I have however attended on and off for a long time since 2011. I found my faith during my high school years at St Mark’s Methodist Church in Edgemead. I attended Cornerstone Christian College where I obtained a BTh in Christian Ministry. I also attended Silwood School of Cookery where I obtained a Diploma in Cordon Bleu cooking. I have worked in many kitchens around Cape Town and a ski resort in Vermont, USA. From the end of 2011 to mid-2014 I worked as the youth pastor at Alberton Methodist Church in Johannesburg during which I became a Local Preacher. Since moving back to Cape Town it took me a long time to find my spiritual home but eventually I found it in DMC.
I have a few passions which include worship music, cooking, planning events, admin (yes I know it’s a bit weirdJ), animals and helping people. I have enjoyed being a part of the worship team and hospitality team. I am really excited about what God is going to be doing at DMC and I look forward to being a part of this leadership team.
