The role of the Hospitality Commission is:

 

  • To help the church and members fulfill the purpose statement of Growing a Family Aflame, Sharing God’s Love with All
  • To welcome all into God’s house through friendly and authentically gracious service.
  • To cater and organise various functions as an outreach to our church family and the greater community.

 

Duties

  • Oversee the working of all hospitality programmes and member care ministries which will include catering and event preparation
  • Be alert to the needs of the church membership and ways to serve those needs.
  • Plan events that allow for Fellowship and sharing within the church’s community
  • Look at initiatives for greater community involvement that allows the Church to reflect its purpose statement

 

Time commitment

As and when you can freely give.

  • You learn as you go as this commission is built on teamwork and sharing Christ’s love with all.

Gr8 Escape Coffee Bar Ministry

To provide an opportunity for fellowship after Sunday Evening services and on Friday youth evenings

Duties

  • To provide various small snack meals, tea, coffee and cold drinks.
  • We have 4 teams that do duty on a roster basis.

 

Time commitment

Sunday, after the evening service and Friday – 6:30 to 10:30pm

Days: Sunday & Friday evenings

Location: The Church Coffee Bar

 

Skills and Talents

  • Passion for people.
  • Great smile and friendly disposition.
  • No need to be a great cook.

 

 

Funeral Teas Ministry

To serve teas after funerals so that we may relieve the bereaved of needless worry.

 

Duties

We meet about a ½ to ¾ hours before the service to lay out the tables and decorate them with flowers etc. We lay out the cups and saucers and arrange the eats. When the tea is over we clear the tables and wash up.

Time commitment

  • As and when we are needed. Depending on the number of people attending the funeral this can take up to 3 hours.
  • The tea is served at the DMC hall
  • There is no team leader as such as this is a team effort and whoever is available on the day leads the team.
