DMC Youth hosted the Big Knit-a-Thon 2015 on Friday the 15th of May.
Members of DMC joined the youth in knitting squares for knee blankets, all in aid of Jersey and Blanket Month. This is held in May in the Methodist Church, to collect warm clothing and blankets for the winter season for those that are less fortunate than ourselves.
Despite loadshedding, the fellowship continued as we knitted away.
But it doesn’t end there, squares can be knitted throughout the year and dropped off at the church. These will be turned into blankets and given to needy people.
So even you were unable to attend, you can still contribute by knitting a square: 40 stitches x 40 rows.
Thanks to all that attended and to the Hospitality commission for the snacks.
Hope to see you all knitting away!
