Can you imagine yourself in the shoes of the family
that ran out of wine during the wedding Jesus attended
in Cana? This story is not about the wine but
about the people. It is a statement about the human
condition. It is about you and me. This family’s
experience illustrates a truth that at some point we
all experience. There comes a day when life seems
empty and dry. I believe each one of us has a story
to tell, and some of us are living those stories today.
Too often we live with the illusion of our own self-sufficiency.
That illusion is shattered on the day the
wine runs out. That day confronts us with an old
truth that reminds us that we are the recipients and
not the creators of our life. We were never intended
nor expected to live by the sufficiency of our own
resources. Christ is the chief steward of our lives.
Regardless of how it feels or what we think about it,
the day the wine runs out is the beginning of a miracle.
Christ does not simply refill our jars. He transforms
our lives, turning sorrow into joy, fear into
courage and despair into hope.
Therefore, embrace the good news that Christ is
enough. Live your life in abundance and enjoy
each moment with Christ.
