MINISTER’S NOTE 27 MARCH 2022
We are constantly confronted with choices. It is up
to each of us to choose our way in life. This is a privilege
God allows us on the one hand. On the other
hand, God encourages us to follow God’s way.
In the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus reveals the
heart of God who gives his love, his forgiveness,
and his inheritance freely and lavishly, without
thought of consequence. The sacrifice of Jesus
Christ on the cross is the prodigal reality of the God
of our life and salvation. It reveals the humanly incomprehensible
love that God has for each of us,
and the earnest desire God has to forgive us and
have a relationship with us. I am convinced God
comes looking for every single one of us, again and
again. Whatever it is that keeps us from God, God
wants to build us a bridge so that God can reach
us.
In Lent we are called to look into our hearts and to
ask ourselves: How am I responding to God’s invitation?
We can be sure that the one who has been
looking for us all along is full of joy at our return.
God is extravagant in his giving and is willing to lavish
his mercy and love on a needy world. May we
be Christ’s ambassadors of this lavish love to all creation.
