PREACER’S NOTE                      27 NOVEMBER 2022

Boy do we know, especially at this time of year, that life
can get too much. Too many things happening at once,
too much that we don’t have control of. We get anxious
– the rush gets into our hearts. We feel that we’re looking
at the back of a complicated tapestry, with so many
threads, and no idea of the picture we’re supposed to
be making.

The good news is that our God is in control. It is His tapestry,
and though we may not see it yet, the side that is important,
the front, is beautiful. He is weaving the threads
of our life, and of those that we know and love, even
those we just meet every day, into the rich picture that is
His kingdom. Even though some of these threads are
painful – a great picture needs shadows to emphasize the
highlights. Even though some of these threads don’t
make sense – why bring that thread over here from way
over there? Why stop this thread, tie a knot, and carry on
with a different colour? What we don’t see is the context
– the front picture needs a change, the transition from
outline to feature, from darkness into light.

May you today take a deep breath, know that the God
of Ages knows your name, He has a plan for you in his
tapestry that is way wider, deeper and more beautiful
than you could ever imagine, and He invites you to relax
and let Him do the weaving.

Blessings, Andrew.
