MINISTER’S NOTE 18 FEBRUARY 2024
As we embark on the sacred journey of Lent, I encourage
each one of us in our personal and collective spiritual
journeys.
Lent is a time to draw closer to God, to examine our
hearts, and to prepare ourselves for the joyous celebration
of Easter. It’s a time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus
Christ, his love for us, and his call for us to love one another.
I encourage you to seek ways to grow in your faith,
making room for God to work in and through your life.
I invite us to watch together the story of Jesus unfold by
following the journey of Peter, a normal human being
who is trying to figure out his faith just like us. The theme,
sub-theme and readings for each week are as follows:
WANDERING HEART: Figuring out faith with Peter
Lent 1: Jesus sought me – Luke 5: 1-11
Lent 2: Rescue me from danger – Matthew 14: 22-33
Lent 3: Praise the mount of God’s unchanging love – Matthew
16: 13-20
Lent 4: I am fixed upon it – Matthew 16: 21-23
Lent 5: Teach me – Matthew 18: 15-22
Let’s also remember to support each other during this
time. Reach out to those who might be struggling, offer
words of encouragement, and pray for each other. We
are stronger when we stand together.
May this Lenten season be a meaningful and transformative
journey for all of us. Let’s look forward with hope and
anticipation to the joy of Easter.
