MINISTER’S NOTE 3 AUGUST 2025
I have really enjoyed the series of sermons on “living
the rhythms of faith in our daily lives” through the
month of July. The various rhythms have afforded us
all the opportunity to re-connect with the basic disciplines
that shape us for living a life of faith in the
midst of our rhythm of daily life and activity.
We give thanks to God for Vuyelwa and for the
work she has put into this series of sermons.
This coming Sunday our focus changes as we are
invited to look honestly and earnestly at one of the
main potential obstacles to this process, our relationship
with our material possessions, and more
especially our money.
The parable of the rich fool, our reading for this
week, invites us to look again at the place that material
possessions, and money occupies in our lives,
and how this can either further free us to live the
Kingdom more fully in the rhythms of our daily lives
or become a major obstacle.
Communion also affords us an opportunity to push
the reset button, and change course if we need to.
