MINISTER’S NOTE 16 NOVEMBER 2025
As we gather in worship and prepare to discern the way forward
together at our ASM, we are reminded that the Church
is not built on our own strength or wisdom, but on the lifegiving
power of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul tells us that
“to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common
good.” (1 Corinthians 12:7).
Every one of us has been gifted, not in the same way, but for
the same purpose: to serve God and build up the body of
Christ.
Being empowered by the Spirit means we are not left to rely
on our own abilities or resources. God’s Spirit breathes life
into us, stirs up creativity, renews our energy, and gives us
courage to keep serving faithfully, even when challenges
arise.
And being united in purpose means we move together — in
cooperation and in fellowship.
Each act of kindness, each prayer offered, each task done in
love becomes part of God’s larger work among us. May this
reminder centre us in God’s presence and purpose.
As we reflect on the year past and look ahead with hope,
may we do so with grateful hearts, trusting that the same
Spirit who empowered the first believers is still empowering
us today — to love, to serve, and to live for the common
good.
May you find quiet strength and renewed joy in knowing that
the Spirit of God dwells within you, guiding, sustaining, and
empowering you each day to live out your unique purpose in
Christ.
