Minister’s Note 25 January 2026
God’s light and presence are something, I believe, we
do not have to ask for. God’s light and presence are always
with us. The question we have to ask ourselves is,
“Are we willing to spread God’s light and presence to
others?”
Try not to be too quick to answer yes, because answering
yes comes with challenges and a host of things that will
make us feel uncomfortable. It will stretch us, grow us,
shape us and form us into being obedient, loving and
kind people – and that is more of what the world needs
now.
We have come through a season of Emmanuel, God
with us, God incarnate and last week we celebrated
and renewed our Covenant with God. These two
liturgical events are not just rituals to tick off on our calendars,
but are spiritual expressions that remind us of a God
that dispels darkness, and whose presence is not somewhere
out there but rather firmly among and with us.
There is no other god that can claim to do the same.
I would like to invite us to become History Makers for the
Triune God, let us join God in making the world a better,
kinder, more caring and loving place.
In God’s name,
Dave.
David Fidler.
