Minister’s Note 1 February 2026
So much of life encourages us to measure ourselves by
what we achieve, what we manage, or how well we
hold things together. Faith invites us into a different way
of seeing. It gently shifts the question from “How am I doing?”
to “Who am I becoming?”
Becoming takes time. Most of God’s work in us happens
quietly – in the choices we make, the way we treat others,
the patience we learn when life feels heavy, and the
compassion that grows when we allow ourselves to be
honest about our own need. We are shaped not by perfection,
but by grace.
This Sunday we are reminded that the life God calls us
into is not complicated, but it is deeply meaningful. It is a
life rooted in humility rather than control, kindness rather
than hardness, and a longing for what is right and lifegiving
for all. These are fruits that grow as we walk closely
with God.
If you feel unfinished, uncertain, or even a little weary,
take heart. Faith is not about having everything figured
out. It is about staying open – open to God’s shaping,
open to one another, and open to the possibility that
love is still forming us.
May we find encouragement in knowing that we are
held, guided, and gently transformed. And may we have
a renewed awareness that becoming in Christ is a lifelong
journey, marked by grace every step of the way.
Blessings,
Vuyelwa.
