TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD ABOUT THE FUTURE
Many people carry quiet questions about the future.
Sometimes the world feels uncertain. Sometimes our own
lives feel settled in ways that make us wonder whether
the most important chapters are already behind us. We
may not say it out loud, but the question sits somewhere
in the heart: What now? What does the future still hold?
The good news we hear in Scripture this week speaks
gently into that question. When God called Abram to
leave his homeland, Abram was not a young man starting
out. His life was already established. Yet God opened
a new horizon before him. In the Gospel reading, Nicodemus
is a respected teacher who has spent years studying
faith, and still Jesus invites him into deeper life: “You
must be born again.”
Both stories remind us of something hopeful: with God,
our lives are never closed chapters.
Faith is a journey of continually discovering more of
God’s grace, guidance, and love. Even after many
years, we are still growing, still learning, still being shaped.
That is part of the gift of Lent. It is a season that gently
turns us again toward God and reminds us that the future
is not only something ahead of us, it is something God is
already preparing.
Wherever you find yourself in life right now, take heart.
God is not finished with you yet. There is still grace unfolding,
still purpose ahead, and still a horizon of hope to
walk toward.
